Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of bringing the Upsellit team together for a Mexico corporate retreat, four-nights in the stunning coastal paradise of The Fives Oceanfront in Puerto Morelos. Allaway designed the experience to reward the hardworking team and strengthen bonds between their US and UK teams.
Day 1: A Warm Welcome to Paradise
As guests arrived at the airport and the resort, Allaway greeted them with seamless coordination and smiling faces. We made check-in feel less like travel and more like stepping into a dream. Each guest was welcomed into their beautiful suite — met with ocean views, and modern finishes.
The first evening kicked off with a welcome dinner on the hotel beach. With their feet in the sand, guests enjoyed a fresh, local menu, gentle ocean breezes, and a stunning sunset — the perfect start.
Day 2: Island Adventures & Rooftop Karaoke
In the morning we booked a charter bus and the team set sail on a private catamaran bound for Isla Mujeres. On the island the group enjoyed a beachside lunch and drinks under the palms. After recharging, we cruised around the island to famous turquoise waters so we could swim.
Afterward, after getting back to the hotel, the Allaway team planned a rooftop karaoke contest that will go down in Upsellit history.
Day 3: Culture, Exploration, and Storytelling
Guests chose from two immersive excursions. One group headed south to Tulum, so they could explore the iconic historic site before swimming through the caves of a cenote with a local guide. Meanwhile, others dove into the underwater world on a guided snorkel excursion, exploring coral reefs and colorful marine life. Executive retreat ideas need to be varied and our program was built to offer a variety of experiences so that every guest felt a part of the program.
Dinner was a cultural celebration. We hosted a private event at Al Mer, where a buffet-style Mexican feast was paired with a mesmerizing live performance — not only were dancers in traditional dress but they also shared the stories of Mexico through movement, music, and vibrant color. As a result, tequila was consumed!
Day 4: Adventure, Flavor, and Farewell Magic
Our final full day of adventure featured two more personalized tracks. One group tackled an adrenaline-pumping zipline course followed by a cenote swim, while the others explored Cancun’s local markets — hand-picking ingredients for a traditional Mexican cooking class with local chefs.
Later that evening, we set sail once more on a private catamaran to Isla Mujeres. What awaited was a 7-course tasting experience that celebrates the Yucatán’s culinary evolution. From the ancient Mayans’ agricultural staples to the diverse influences of Spanish, African, Asian, and French cultures, each chapter of our experience builds on this remarkable heritage. With interactive elements and storytelling woven into every course, this experience is as engaging as it is delicious. In between, tequila tastings and cocktail-making stations really crafted this night into something that every Upsellit team member will remember.
Onsite Vibes: Rest, Recharge, and Reconnect
Between the major moments, the magic continued: Paint & Sip classes, casual volleyball games, spa sessions, sunrise yoga, and plenty of pool time made the downtime just as memorable. All-inclusive breakfasts and lunches meant guests could fuel up and wind down as they pleased.
This wasn’t just a getaway — it was an investment in team culture. Employees left feeling refreshed, inspired, and deeply appreciated. Time and again, we heard the same sentiment: “It means so much that our leadership team gave us this experience.”
