Welcome to Allaway. Where the commitment to sustainability is built into the fabric of every event we host. In our continuous pursuit of a greener future, we’re thrilled to share seven event sustainability things we do to propel us even further down the path of environmental responsibility.
Reforestation Revolution: Tree Planting Partner Programs

Our tree planting program has been a great success and over the last two years we’ve committed to planting over 5000 trees. We partnered with the National Forest Foundation, Moka Origins & The Conservation Alliance to build upon this for the future. You should consider partnering with local environmental organizations to organize community tree-planting events. This not only expands our impact but also fosters a sense of shared responsibility within the communities we touch.
Plastic-Free Progress: Zeroing in on Single-Use Plastic
While we’ve made strides in reducing single-use plastic, we are always aiming for even greater achievements. We looked at every single area where we had single use plastics at our events, from utensils to packaging. We highlighted the biggest waste areas and focused our attention there. We invested in stainless steel cups and onsite water fountains that meant we no longer need single use plastic water bottles. We now encourage vendors to provide reusable alternatives and incentivize attendees to use their eco-friendly containers. We work with Plaine Products on refillable, reusable, plastic free amenities.
We recently partnered with Earth Cups so when we do need to use single-use cups they don’t go into a landfill site but can be fully recycled through our program.
Circular Solutions: Enhancing the Recycling Program

We enhanced our recycling program by following a closed-loop system. We try to partner with businesses that use recycled materials to create event merchandise. By closing the loop, we not only reduce waste but also support the local circular economy.
Eco-Conscious Catering:
We also aimed to extend our sustainability initiatives to the catering services. We often work with event venues who source locally grown, organic produce to reduce the carbon footprint of our guests meals. We always opt for compostable or reusable tableware when we can’t rely on silverware. We also work with caterers who prioritize sustainable practices in food production and waste management. Our commitment to green cuisine adds a flavorful touch to our events.
Sustainable Style Statement

We made a commitment to try to source sustainable clothing, we collaborate with businesses who specialize in eco-friendly apparel. This meant more ethically sourced organic cottons rather than synthetics. We also aim to cut down on the number of item orders. When we order we try do so consciously to reduce the number of shipments that need to be made, making improvements at each end of the supply chain.
Energy Innovation
This is a big area that we wish to improve on, at Allaway we would love to be able to host more events with renewable energy sources. We are exploring on-site solar panels at our own venue. By harnessing clean energy, we can reduce our carbon emissions but also set an example for the broader events industry to embrace sustainable power solutions.
Educational Outreach

We are working on adding educational initiatives so we can raise awareness about sustainability. This will include hosting workshops to inspire attendees to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. By actively engaging our audience, we transform our events into platforms for positive change.
As Allaway strides towards a greener future, these seven strategies will serve as stepping stones in our journey to become a beacon of sustainability in the events industry.
- • By expanding our tree planting program
- • Reducing single-use plastics
- • Enhancing recycling efforts
- • Adopting sustainable fashion
- • Adopting green catering practices
- • Harnessing renewable energy
- • Promoting educational outreach
We solidify our commitment to leaving a positive and lasting impact on both our attendees and the planet. Join us in this exciting venture, and let’s together create events that not only celebrate life but also champion the wellbeing of our planet.
